It has been confirmed that Johnny Depp will be returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Depp has mentioned several times that he’d be open to bringing back Jack Sparrow while co-stars, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, don’t share his enthusiasm. When Knightley was asked if she would ever consider doing another ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movie she replied: “I think it was wonderful and an amazing opportunity and those films were just extraordinary and I was extremely lucky to be a part of them. But no. I think my pirating days may be over.”

Bloom has also indicated he would like to walk away from the series stating, “I’m looking forward to taking on some completely new challenges. I’ll be sad to see it go, but it’s time to do something new for me. The great thing about this film is that, as a trilogy, there’s closure.”

Depp will also be playing iconic sidekick Tonto in Jerry Bruckheimer’s big screen take on “The Lone Ranger” as well as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s forthcoming “Alice in Wonderland” remake.
