Holly Madison Quits Lying
Holly Madison, long considered Hugh Hefner’s main girlfriend, put on a happy face at the mansion even as her real-life romance was crumbling.
Madison has been very open about her desire to start a family with the 82-year-old founder of Playboy. After in vitro fertility treatments were unsuccessful she was depressed and finally made the decision to leave Hef in August.
“I wanted to have kids,” she says. “When that wasn’t possible, I realized that I had to be honest with Hef and break it off.”
Holly, 28, says she’ll never reconcile with Hef and that she’ll never be with another man that old again but she did love him while they were together.
What does she think about Hef’s new girls and is he mad? Read below.
Was Hef mad at you for revealing you had split?
I think he’s upset. There were a lot of people – not just Hef – who wanted me to pretend we were still together for the sake of the show. I tried to do that for a few weeks, but I couldn’t live like that.
Did you really love him?
I devoted 100 percent of myself to Hef the whole time we were together.
Were you trying to get pregnant? We tried for me to get pregnant by in vitro fertilization, because it wasn’t going to happen the old fashioned way.
Did you have any success with the fertility treatments?
When the IVF didn’t work out after months of giving myself injections every day and feeling horrible, the clinic informed me it wasn’t possible because he was too old. I feel they were just after my money because they knew there was a 99-percent chance it was impossible.
Hef has moved on?
Yeah, Hef’s always looking for younger women. I’m 28 years old and I feel like I need something more in life, so that’s probably why he’s with some really young girls. They’re just looking to have fun, I guess.
How do you feel about being replaced so quickly?
I worry about Hef. He’s vulnerable emotionally and I worry about girls taking advantage.
