The 2008 American Music Award Winners

This years American Music Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, took place at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on Hollywood Blvd and proved to be a great night for many stars and their fans.

Those performing included: Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Natasha Bedingfield, Coldplay, The Fray, Kanye West, Rihanna, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Taylor Swift, Pussycat Dolls, Pink, New Kids on the Block, Leona Lewis and Ne-Yo. Beyonce broke it down to her new song “Single Ladies,” in a similar looking leotard and heels that Justin Timberlake wore on their ‘SNL’ skit.

It was a big night for country cutie Taylor Swift as she won her first AMA award in the favorite female country artist catagory along with having a number one album on the charts. The Jonas Brothers, who broke a record earlier this year by having five songs in the top 20, also won their first AMA award for breakthrough artist of the year.

Some presenters included Daughtry, Kate Moss, Nick Lachey, Jordan Sparks, Ashley Tisdale and Akon.
