While the media is still buzzing about Jessica Simpson’s supposed “weight gain,” her ex-husband, Nick Lachey and many other celebrities have jumped in to defend the singers curvier figure.

Lachey, 35, says, “I hope she’s happy, whatever size she comes in. I wish her nothing but the best. I can’t believe it’s this big of a story and people are making such a huge deal about it. I’m never ceased to be amazed by people’s reaction to things.”

Lachey joins a chorus of other celebs supporting Simpson, 28, including sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Kim Kardashian and Heidi Klum.

Dakota Fanning may be joining the Twilight cast as a villainous vampire in the film’s sequel, New Moon.

Fanning, 14, says, “It’s not 100 percent yet set in stone but it’s definitely not totally untrue or a rumor. It’s definitely a possibility and I think it would be really, really fun to be a part of.”

According to previous reports, Fanning will join the film’s returning stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner onscreen to play Jane, a petite but powerful vampire able to inflict pain.

“I think just playing an evil vampire is really cool,” she says. “If I got to do [New Moon], that’d probably be the most fun part.”

As for her future costars, “I’m a big fan of the cast. To join it would be a really great honor and I really hope that it works out,” she says.

On Thursday’s The View, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, announced that she and husband, Tim Hasselbeck, are expecting their third child, who is due in August.

The 31-year-old co-host says, “We were thoroughly happy with the surprise of it,” she said. “I didn’t even know for two months — I was walking around — I thought I had — I kept saying, ‘Electionitis, electionitis.’”

“I was tired, I was nauseous, I thought I was worn out from the whole procedure,” she went on. “No. I was knocked up and didn’t realize it.”

The couple already have two children together, daughter Grace, 3, and son Taylor, 1.

NBC won’t be showing PETA’s latest commercial, promoting vegetarianism, because it’s too sexy.

Page Six has reported that NBC has turned down a Super Bowl ad from animal rights organization PETA due to it being a bit too sexual:

NBC pulled the plug on a PETA pro-veggie commercial planned for the Super Bowl because it “depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards,” according to NBC Universal’s advertising standards executive, Victoria Morgan. The ad, which carries the tagline, “Studies Show Vegetarians Have Bet ter Sex,” shows lingerie-clad stunners getting “intimate” with vegetables.

When Jennifer Aniston graced the cover of GQ in nothing but a neck tie, not only did she capture the attention of every man and woman on the planet, but she also got the attention of Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner.

When speaking about the photos, Hef said, “This looks like the cover of Playboy. I’m much impressed by Jennifer. Is it just me or is Jennifer Aniston getting hotter?…Never seen her in this light before.”

Shortly after those comments were made, he reportedly offered Aniston $4 million dollars to pose for his magazine but Jenn turned him down.

He was reportedly willing to go all the way up to $10 million but the actress said she has no intention of taking off her clothes for his magazine.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz wants people to leave her big sister, Jessica Simpson, alone.

Ashlee, 24, wrote on her blog after photos appeared of Jessica, 28, at the Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff on Sunday in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

“I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight.” Under the headline, “Since when did a woman’s weight become newsworthy,” Ashlee says: “A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure.”

She adds: “All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you’re a celebrity, there shouldn’t be a different standard.”

Ashlee says she wonders if people would make the same remarks to a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother or friend.

“I seriously doubt it,” she says. “How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now can we focus on the things that really matter.”

I agree with Ashlee on this one. Even if Jessica has gained a little weight, she still looks great. What do you think?

Jessica Simpson let her love for boyfriend, Tony Romo, be well known to a crowd of nearly 30,000 fans at Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff.

Simpson, 28,  who shared the stage with Alan Jackson and other country stars, exclaimed, “I am so excited that I am going to see my boyfriend tonight!”

During the hour-long show, a smiling and happy Simpson, performed a medley of her pop hit songs including, “Angel” and “With You” as well as delivering new songs from Do You Know, her first country album released last fall.

Simpson’s rendition of “You’re My Sunday,” from the country album, was dedicated to her Dallas Cowboys quarterback boyfriend, who was waiting for her in Dallas. “My boyfriend is a football player, and he takes up my Sundays and now my Mondays,” Simpson told the audience. “I am sooo happy!”

Britney Spears is gearing up for her upcoming world tour, which kicks off in New Orleans March 3.

Spears, 27, shows off her hard work in an exclusive rehearsal photo posted to the singers web site.

Jamie King, who choreographed her 2000 concerts, is back on duty, and the singer looks svelte and toned in a tank top showing off her arms and even the mom-of-two’s tummy.

The arena tour, her first in five years, includes special guest, The Pussycat Dolls.

Every once in a while you’ll hear about a kind hearted paparazzi and the good things they happen to do for the celebrities they stalk. Jennifer Aniston recently got a taste of what those instances are like.

The actress’s beloved dog, Norman, reportedly ran away from her Malibu home this past weekend but was returned safely by the paparazzo.

The pap recognized the dog while waiting for Aniston to leave her house and went after him right before he tried to run across a very busy intersection. He caught the dog just in time and returned him safely to the stars home.
