Chris Brown Arrested
Chris Brown was arrested Sunday night for allegedly beating up a woman, who insiders identify as the singers current girlfriend, Rihanna.
Sources say, Brown, 19, beat Rihanna, 20, when they got into a fight in his car after a gala party. “She got out of the car to walk home. He got out to stop her,” said the source. “Things got physical. He hit her, possibly more than once. She had multiple bruises.”
Rihanna was spotted being taken in for treatment Sunday night by a security guard at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.”She’s been released,” said guard Rodderick Brown.
Rihanna’s publicist, Amanda Silverman, claimed the “Umbrella” singer was only involved in a traffic mishap but “is fine.” The LAPD would not identify the woman who was attacked, citing confidentiality.
LAPD spokeswoman, April Harding said, “Brown and the woman were inside of a vehicle. According to the victim they became involved in an argument. . . . The argument escalated into an altercation.” By the time the cops responded to the scene following a 911 call, Brown was gone. The hip-hop singer turned himself in around 7 p.m. where he is being held on a $50,000 bail.
The couple were seen earlier Saturday night at a pre-Grammy gala, posing for pictures and kissing before hopping into a waiting silver Lamborghini. Rumors of an engagement have recently swirled around the power couple, who have been dating for over a year. There have also been sources who have described the Barbados-born beauty as a clingy girlfriend who can’t stand to have Brown out of her sights.
Rihanna and Chris Brown were both scheduled to perform at the Grammy’s but pulled out at the last minute. Brown’s planned performance as the evening’s second musical number was replaced by Justin Timberlake and Al Green.
