Former Power Rangers Actor Sentenced to Death
Skylar Deleon, former Power Rangers actor, was sentenced to death yesterday for murdering an Arizona couple in 2004 by tying them to an anchor and throwing them overboard their yacht into the Pacific Ocean off Southern California.
Deleon, who guest starred as Roger in a few Power Ranger episodes, and his then-wife, Jennifer Henderson, gained access to the boat by acting like they were interested in buying it. After the gruesome murders, the two scrubbed the boat clean with bleach wipes in Newport Harbor. The bodies of Tom and Jackie Hawks were never found.
In 2006 Henderson was sentenced to two terms of life in prison without parole for her murders. Deleon was also convicted of killing a man he met on a work furlough program in 2003. His attorneys admitted he’d committed the crime, but argued Deleon was predisposed to violence after his mother abandoned him with his drug-dealing father. That argument did not get him off the hook.
