Oscar-winning actress and Grammy-winning singer Jennifer Hudson is pregnant. Friends and family threw a baby shower for the mom-to-be in downtown Chicago on Saturday.

Felicia Fields, a longtime friend of Hudson says, “It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family. They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had.”

When asked if Hudson received blue or pink gifts, Fields replied, “They don’t know [the gender]. More yellow.”

Hudson, 27, who is engaged to Harvard-educated-lawyer-turned-wrestler David Otunga, has also been keeping quiet about her upcoming wedding date.

A rep for Hudson had no comment.

When Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo turned 29 last month his longtime girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, surprised her man with a custom speedboat appraised at $100,000.

Sources claim Tony, who celebrated his birthday on April 21, was stunned to receive the pricey gift from his girl, who had the boat shipped to the Dallas estate where the couple live.

“Tony loves speed, and with all of the horsepower in his new boat, he can go as fast as anyone on the lake,” says a pal, who adds, “Jessica knows that Tony has always wanted a boat.” The boat is described as a 25-foot Malibu Wakesetter with a 450 horsepower motor and a stereo system.

Insiders say Jessica is hoping all that gratitude will be followed up with an engagement ring one day soon.

“Jessica is hoping that a birthday gift to Tony will lead to marriage, and by this time next year that she’ll be walking down the aisle with him.”

American Idol contestants Kris Allen and Adam Lambert visited NBC’s Today Show Summer Concert Series and controversy with host Natalie Morales.

Idol winner, Kris Allen performed “No Boundries” and the Kanye West song “Heartless,” and runner-up Adam Lambert sang “Mad World.”

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson’s four-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, died in a tragic accident Tuesday.

Tyson’s daughter was playing on a treadmill at her mother’s home in Phoenix yesterday when her neck became tangled in a dangling cord. The mother, whose name has not been released, was cleaning in another part of the house when the little girl’s brother found his sister hanging from the machine. He alerted his mother who called 911 and administered CPR until paramedics arrived.

The little one was taken to St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center, where she was place on life support. Sadly, the youngster was pronounced dead today at 11:45 a.m., surrounded by family members.

Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident and arrived at the Arizona hospital this morning. The family issued a statement thanking everyone for their love and support and asking for privacy while they grieve.

Victoria’s Secret model, Adriana Lima and her NBA hubby, Marko Jaric, are expecting their first child together.

Lima’s rep says the couple is, “overjoyed and excited to share the happy news and start their family together.”

Pregnancy rumors started flying two weeks after the couple’s Valentine’s Day wedding. Someone had posted a blog on a fake Adriana Lima Myspace account. Lima’s publicist stated, “The MySpace page is a fake. Marko and Adriana are very happy, but not with child. They plan on having a family one day in the future. But not now.”

Lima is reportedly 3 months pregnant and People magazine reveals the couple is “overjoyed” about the baby news. Congrats to the expecting couple!

In the heartbreaking season premiere of reality show Jon & Kate Plus Eight, which drew a record-breaking audience of 9.8 million viewers, the couple admits they don’t entirely know where to go from here.

In the extended premiere, Jon and Kate, who have been married nearly ten years, could barely stay in the same camera-frame and rarely spoke to each other. Kate Gosselin admitted, “I am thinking this possibly could be our last family picture together,” at the sextuplets’ fifth birthday party, which she planned while Jon Gosselin was away.

At the end of the show the whole family gets together for a cookout while producers grill Jon and Kate, who for the first time in the history of the show were filmed in separate interview sessions. “It kills me,” Kate said of the rumors (and truth?) of Jon’s infidelity… and perhaps, allegedly, her own. “I have a lot of anger.” As for Jon, he said, “I’d like to apologize to my family for my actions. Everybody knows what I’m talking about.”

“As many couples do, we are navigating a very difficult time,” the couple said in a statement. “Our current situation brings us together around the children and some times sets us apart. We keep our faith that we will make the right decisions for our family.”

“We will always love our kids,” Jon said on the show, after apologizing to his family. “We will come together for our kids.

Six states in Germany have banned Red Bull after a test revealed that the energy drink contained trace amounts of cocaine.

Authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia state conducted a sample test on Friday that found 0.4 micograms per liter in the drink. Five other states followed suit with the bans concerned over possible narcotics law violations.

Red Bull issued a statement saying the energy drink is “harmless and marketable in both the U.S. and Europe.”  It said similar coca leaf extracts are used worldwide as flavoring, and a test it commissioned itself found no cocaine traces.

Germany’s Federal Institute for Risk Assessment said that the cocaine level was too low to pose a health risk and is planned to give a more detailed report on Wednesday.

After enjoying the Bahamas the day before, Britney Spears arrived in Amite, La, where she made an appearance as an “honorary” bridesmaid at her cousin, Laura Lynne Covington’s wedding.

“When her brother walked her down the aisle, she looked stunningly calm and beautiful,” says one wedding guest. “She was very pretty, low-key. She was not the center of everything, just pretty and calm and collected.”

The wedding took place at the First United Methodist Church. Later, at the wedding reception, the pop star hung out with her sister and fellow bridesmaid, Jamie Lynn. Jamie, who had baby Maddie with her “sat at a table off to the side and visited with local people she knew,” says the guest.

“There was no fanfare,” noted the guest. “With all the star power Britney and her family command, it was still the bride’s day.”

At this years 2009 MTV Movie Awards, Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will present the world’s first clip from their new movie, New Moon.

“Fans can tune-in to the show to see sneak peeks from three of the most highly anticipated movies of the year,” show producer Mark Burnett said Monday. “These clips have never been seen before and we’re very excited that ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ is one of them.”

Andy Sambert will host this years MTV Movie Awards live on Sunday, May 31 at 9 p.m. from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. For the first time ever, the final nominees will be chosen by the fans.

American Idol finalist Adam Lambert reportedly introduced a male companion as his “boyfriend” to the other idol contestants at Outback Steakhouse in Burbank, California last Saturday night.

Sources also say fellow contestants Anoop Desai and Megan Joy Corkrey, who were also looking cozy at the dinner, are an item.

Adam Lambert will face off against Arkansas native, Kris Allen on this weeks American Idol finale.
