Even though Jessica Simpson is “bummed” about her recent split from quarterback Tony Romo, a source says, “it’s the best thing for her.”

Simpson, who was dumped the night before her 29th birthday, is “in love with love,” a source tells People magazine. “I think when Jessica gets into a relationship, she thinks she is going to marry him and have babies. Every time she ends up with a boy, she is in the zone that it’s leading to marriage and babies. That’s how she’s programmed.”

“I guarantee when she was with John Mayer she thought she was going to marry John.” According to the source, “It’s been tough for her.  Tony had his eyes on everyone but her towards the end.”

Romo, 29, has recently been linked to 22-year-old Natalie Smith, the daughter of the associated athletic director at Eastern Illinois University. Smith’s father has denied the rumors that the pair are an item.

Simpson’s closeness to her family is also rumored to have taken a toll on the relationship as well. “They are extremely close and when you date her, you date her family.”

Simpson is currently staying with her parents in their Encino home, and is taking some time to focus on herself.  She recently teamed up with VH1 for a new reality show, “The Price of Beauty.”

Rachelle Lefevre has just released a new statement upon being fired by Summit Entertainment from the third installment of the Twilight saga.

The news that Lefevre had been fired from her role as the evil red-headed vampire, Victoria, hit the newstands early Wednesday morning.

News of her replacement have also been circling. Summit Entertainment has announced that the actress will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard for the third installment of the popular vampire series.

Summit had also explained that Lefevre had not been able to fulfill her role because of “scheduling conflicts“, but apparently Lefevre issued an official statement on the whole event.

The IQA (Intercollegiate Quidditch Association) has officially started a trend amongst college students, the trend of the Harry Potter-based sport of Quidditch.

The first college to begin this intramural sport was Middlebury in Pennsylvania in 2005. These teams then traveled around the northern states in the spring of 2008, visiting various colleges such as Princeton, Amherst, Dartmouth and UPenn, as well as Columbia. During this roadtrip, the teams were covered by MTV, CBS and ESPN.

 According to the official website, the total press coverage amounted to about 3 million viewers. After the teams returned to Middlebury, almost 180 other colleges inquired about the sport and starting their own game.

The students then created their very own rulebook to give to those who wanted to start their own Quidditch teams. The sport is growing extremely fast, it has even rumored to have hit Australia.

After the teams had implemented rules, the newfound Quidditch league as well as uniforms and new brooms ordered from none other than Alivans, they were ready to announce their second intercollegiate World Cup. According to the official website, 12 teams were in place for this world cup with over 1000 spectators as well as many entertainment acts.  The World Cup of 2008 also featured the first real international team from McGill University in Canada.

Tim Burton’s upcoming film, Alice in Wonderland is set to be released on March 5, 2010 and has just released it’s first trailer.

The film is currently in post-production, but many photos have already been released.

The new site for WB’s upcoming film, The Time Traveler’s Wife has officially been launched. The film, starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, is set to be released on August 14 this fall.

 The film, based on the beloved novel of the same name, is a tale about ”Henry DeTamble, a dashing, adventuresome librarian who travels involuntarily through time, and Clare Abshire, an artist whose life takes a natural sequential course. Henry and Clare’s passionate love affair endures across a sea of time and captures the two lovers in an impossibly romantic trap.”

Model Noot Seear has taken off from the runway and about to land in the dark and mysterious Twilight Saga.

The newfound actress will take on the role of a vampire seductress in New Moon that goes by the name of Heidi. Heidi is a member of the elite band of Italian vampires known as none other than the Volturi. Seear’s character possesses the gift of seduction.

The director of New Moon, Chris Weitz, talks about casting the runway model on the big screen, “We wanted someone who had an unearthly and unlikely beauty, but could also convey humor and menace. … It’s rare to find a stunningly attractive person who also happens to have the ability to act.”

Seear mentions her previous work, saying, “Modeling was great to me. I made a lot of money doing it, [but] what makes acting different is that you get a voice. You’re not just a picture.”

She also mentions, “I was really scared because you’re not allowed to look in the camera [when shooting a movie], but in the modeling world, you’re supposed to.”

To solve this problem, she was told to wear heavy-duty violet contacts during her scene. Unfortunately, these contacts impaired her vision. Seear says, “I literally couldn’t see two feet in front of me. They would tell me, ‘Look at Kristin [Stewart],’ and I was like,’Okay. Where is she?’”

Jamie Waylett, also known as Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter series, had officially been arrested on drug charges for tending to ten pot plants in his house in April earlier this year.

Waylett, 19, was arrested in London for “suspicion of possessing marijuana“. Many reports say that the actor was pulled over while with a friend and the police discovered eight bags of marijuana inside the car.

When the British actor believed it to be over, the police then searched his London home and discovered the rest of the marijuana. Waylett shares his home with his three siblings and his mother.

The police ended up finding, which are said to be worth approximately $2,900. These cannabis plants were growing under hydroponic lights, which are extremely powerful.

On his 20th birthday, yesterday, he was spared prison for these offences. Although he did not have to complete jailtime, he did have to complete 120 hours of community work.

District judge Tim Workman told the actor, “I accept cultivation was not commercial.”

Mischa Barton’s new show, The Beautiful Life, has delayed production from July 22 to July 31. Is this because of Barton’s recent hospitalization for a suspected suicide attempt?

Sources say it is not. The delay is apparently caused due to the sets not being ready in time.

Barton is currently under “involuntary psychiatric hold” at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a non-emergency call to the police on Wednesday.

The Beautiful Life is about a group of models in New York, starring Barton as Sonja Stone, a veteran model who is trying to climb the fashion ladder back to the top.The show is set to be released following America’s Next Top Model on September 16.

No new details have been released.
