Robert Novak, or Bob Novak, is an unapologetic reporter who people around the globe disliked for being so. He is a “giant” in reporting about politics. In his life, he influenced many in a bad way but some in a very meaningful way.

Kenneth Tomlinson talks of Novak, his former colleague, saying, “Throughout my life, I followed Bob Novak journalism like I followed the careers of my favorite sports figures. Later, as editor-in-chief of Reader’s Digest, I would become one of Novak’s nominal bosses, though the fact was that every time I worked with him or was associated with him in any way, it was I who felt privileged. Few journalists have ever affected this country like Bob Novak.”

Novak had spent decades writing as a journalist for various places. He was nicknamed “the Prince of Darkness”, that he reused for writing his memoirs.

He did not hesitate to criticize anything or anyone when he felt things were going in the wrong direction.

Nearly a year and a half ago, Novak announced publicly that he was dealing with terminal brain cancer and retired from nearly all of his work. This did not last long, in fact, only a few weeks until he gave up and continued writing.

Unfortunately on this day, Novak died of this cancer, but he will live on in memory whether good or bad, and have a definite influence on writers all over the world.

Cheers, Bob Novak.
