‘Big & Rich’ Star John Rich Cleared of Assault Charges
A Nashville, Tennessee judge has dismissed assault and harassment charges against country singer John Rich.
In May the Big & Rich star surrendered to Nashville police to face charges that resulted from an alleged altercation in March with red Ashley, a former competitor on U.S. reality TV show Nashville Star.
Ashley filed a lawsuit claiming that Rich punched him in the face. Rich countersued, seeking compensation for defamation.
Rich turned down a settlement offer of $2.9 million, maintaining his innocence.
A Nashville judge found Rich innocent of all charges after several witnesses testified that Rich never hit Ashley.
Civil cases against each other continue.
