Emmanuel Ungaro - Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010

Lindsay Lohan’s future as a fashion consultant seemed questionable two weeks ago when Emanuel Ungaro blasted her first collection, calling it “a disaster.” But Monday at the Milan Fashion Global Fashion Summit  the label’s President and Chief Executive Mounir Moufarrige announced that he had no plans to can Lohan, “Yes [she's staying on], she has a job to do,” he told Reuters.

Ungaro, founder of the couture fashion house with which he no longer has any contact, said that his creation is “in the process of losing its soul,” as a result of the Lohan hiring.

As for the criticism aimed at Lohan for sending models down the runway in pasties and bras, Moufarrige, says “The criticism was harsh. I am sure we can do better in the collection to be honest but I think it was harsh,” before adding, “But it did sell well.”

He did not have much to say however regarding Ungaro’s assessment of the design house’s new direction? “Mr Ungaro has his views, he can keep them.” Moufarrige says, “I have no comment.”
