Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren New Prenuptial Agreement
Details of the latest chapter in the Tiger Woods saga are beginning to emerge.
As you might expect, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren signed a pre-nup. And, as the couple undergoes what is most likely some serious marital counseling, their pre-nup is getting a sweet little do-over.
The original prenuptial agreement stated that Elin was to receive $20 million after 10 years of marriage. The Daily Beast is reporting that Elin is renegotiating to receive an immediate $5 million payment to be deposited “into an account she alone controls,” the ten-year timeframe has been reduced to seven and the value of the agreement has increased “substantially.”
A lawyer familiar with the couple’s negotiations claims that, in addition to the $5 million and shortened timeframe, the revised agreement provides for a staggered schedule of payments spread out over five years that could be worth upward of $75 million. So if Elin can stand by her man for seven more years she’ll stand to collect $80 million. If she only makes it through two more years she will still walk away with almost twice what she was initially entitled to.
It sounds like Tiger’s “transgressions” are going to cost him around $60 million. Jaimee Grubbs claims that she and Woods had 20 sexual encounters. That’s $3 million a pop, we sure hope he got his money’s worth!
